Our Holy Land - Bharuch

Spread like a down-town of any metropolis, Bharuch is an industrial hub with thrust on fertilizers, chemicals and pharmaceutical industries. Resting on the banks of the holy Narmada River on one side and the town of Ankleshwar on the other, linked by two mile-long over bridges (one for rail traffic, linking Mumbai to Ahmedabad & New Delhi and the other for vehicular road traffic), the holy town has a mixed population and architectural heritage. Age old houses that speak of our ancestral existence and ambience, with a lot of emotional touch, and setting up of new breed of housing colonies and enclaves. Population also adorns a cosmopolitan flavour with new generation professional groups and older generation retired personnel and house-keepers.

With GNFC (Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Limited), a public sector blue-chip fertilizer company with its diversified mega projects in satellite communications & information technology, the business empire also offers sophisticated staff housing , lush green sports & golf lawns , a modern sports complex , architecturally modern temple , a school , and a snake park that attract visitors from all over . Other industries in the belt include - Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd., Birla Copper, BASF , Searle India , Aventis (Hoechst ), Asian Paints, Sandoz India , J.B. chemicals , and a farm of oil wells owned , operated and maintained by the Indian public sector giant - Oil & Natural Gas Commission (ONGC). The town has many scenic points and places of pilgrimage in its vicinity . It is well - linked with major cities - a) one hour to Baroda airport & industrial hub , b) one hour to Surat , the diamond & textile market , c) 6- hour by rail & road to Mumbai (Bombay), the international airport and country's largest industrial base with connectivity throughout the world .

The holy town also has its own television news & entertainment channel (called " Channel Narmada"). It is well integrated with cell sites for mobile phone subscribers and with satellite communication dishes for TV channel cable operators .
